Moon Above was founded by Jean-Baptiste Quesnay, a French entrepreneur, advisor and business builder with more than fifteen years of experience across marketing, communications, culture and international business development.
Over the course of his career, Jean-Baptiste founded and led TRENDS, an international communications agency with operations across Paris, Dubai and Tokyo, working with some of the world's leading consumer brands. Through this experience, he developed an extensive international network spanning business leaders, investors, cultural institutions, media groups, hospitality operators and private collectors.
Jean-Baptiste's relationship with art began long before his professional career.
Raised in Normandy, a region deeply rooted in art history, where artists from Claude Monet to David Hockney have been drawn by its distinctive light, landscapes and creative spirit.he grew up surrounded by books, paintings and conversations about art. His parents regularly visited galleries and accumulated art books, while several members of his family built private collections over the years. Exposure to artists, exhibitions and collecting practices became a natural part of his environment from an early age.
This early familiarity with the cultural world shaped a lasting curiosity for the role art plays beyond aesthetics — as a reflection of history, identity, influence and value. It also fostered an appreciation for the disciplines surrounding collecting: research, provenance, documentation, stewardship and long-term thinking.
Today, this personal foundation informs Moon Above's approach to art advisory, combining cultural sensitivity with rigorous analysis, strategic thinking and disciplined execution.
